Tendo as séries "Mad Men" e "American Horror Story" um total de 17 nomeações cada. A cerimónia dos Emmys 2012 vai decorrer no dia 23 de Setembro, e contará com a apresentação de Jimmy Kimmel.

O grande recordista das nomeações, apesar de se tratar de uma mini-série que dificilmente chegará até ao público português, foi «Mildred Pierce», a história de uma mãe solteira interpretada por Kate Winslet e da relação problemática com a sua filha. As 21 nomeações da minissérie da HBO incluem os nomes de Kate Winslet e de Evan Rachel Wood como candidatas aos prémios de representação.
